Send Money to a Foreign Bank
It is relatively easy to send money overseas. If you want to send money to a foreign bank, you can do so through your local bank where you already have an account. To send money to a foreign bank, you will need to request a wire transfer, which will transfer the money immediately. The funds should be available in the recipient's account within two business days. This is easy for you and the recipient, since the money goes directly from your bank account to their bank account.
Instructions
1. Get the information you will need to perform the wire transfer. This includes the recipient's name, address, bank name, bank address and account number.
2. Go to your bank and request a money transfer form. Fill out the form with the recipient's information and the amount of money that you want to transfer. You can send funds in either your currency or the foreign country's currency. If you don't already have sufficient funds in your account to cover the transfer, you may need to deposit cash into your account.
3. Pay the wire transfer fee to your bank, which could cost up to $40 for an overseas transfer. Your bank may debit this charge directly from your bank account.
4. Tell your recipient to expect the money to be available within two or three business days. Some countries may take longer to make the funds available.
