Help Make Your Own Emoticons With Frontpage From Microsoft

Emoticons are a combination of text elements that have a special meaning. Font sets that use the alphabet, such as Arial and Times New Roman, are used to create a combination of textual elements that add emotional content to email or social networking messages. However, there are font sets that simplify the addition of emotional elements to a textual message. These font sets are called Wingdings. Using Microsoft FrontPage to create emoticons simplifies the process.

Instructions

1. Open Microsoft Frontpage. Click on "File" and select "New Page or Web." Select "Blank Page."

2. Click somewhere on the page.

3. Click on "Insert" in the menu at the top of the browser. Select "Symbol." A window will open and show all the characters of one of your font sets.

4. Scroll to the bottom of the font menu and select "Wingdings," "Wingdings 2" or "Wingdings 3." Use the slider bar to scroll and view all the symbols available for the font selected.

5. Click on the symbol of your choice. The symbol square will turn blue.

6. Click "Insert" at the bottom of the font window. The symbol will appear on your Microsoft FrontPage page.

7. Click on the "HTML" tab of your Microsoft FrontPage page. View the html code for the symbol you selected. For instance, a face with a downward smile selected from "Wingdings" is made by striking the lowercase "L" key on your keyboard.
