Be An Resource For Your Company

Does the boss of the company know who you are? How far will you go to get noticed by upper management so that you will be considered for that promotion? We are all working to provide financially for our families. But what if you could get that promotion without having to always need to apply for it?

Instructions

1. Computer "proficiency" is more of an asset than just being computer "literate." If you can do just about anything on the computer and know your way around the Internet, then you're on your way to becoming a promotable asset.

2. Doing your job to the best of your ability is something that we all strive to do. Go one step farther and try for perfection on large projects.

3. Start out doing little jobs for other regional managers even though they have their own secretaries to do these duties. To make yourself shine above the others, when researching information, make sure that when writing your findings be as detailed as possible. Make sure that when your brief is being read, there are no questions to be asked. Every aspect of your explanation covers all information including dates and amounts.

4. Being adaptable at doing assigned duties that doesn't always result in compensation is an asset. Get to know the fundamentals of the new duty first, how it's done, go about getting it done, and your way of doing it. Once you practice and perfect the method of how you do this new duty, you will become proficient.

5. Once everyone sees how proficient you are in your new duty, they will come to you for answers. Regardless if there is someone else already doing this job, because they will see that your method yields more positive results than the other persons. So in the end, you will be compensated for your new duty, maybe not at the time that you're assigned your job, but once your results prove how effective your methods are, then you will be promoted the title that encompasses the job that you've been given to do with no monetary increase.
