Research A Business Around The Bbb Website

Before doing business with a company, consumers should check if the business is in good standing with the Better Business Bureau. Having a good standing with the Better Business Bureau tells the consumer how the company has conducted business in the past with other consumers. Fortunately for consumers, you can research a company quickly through the Better Business Bureau's website. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

1. Go to the Better Business Bureau website and enter your zip code on the front page to direct the website to pull up businesses within your area.

2. Click on "Reliability Reports" at the bottom of the page in order to acquire a Better Business Bureau report on a company. Input company information into the appropriate fields to search for the company that you would like to research. You can search by company name, website, phone number or address.

3. Hit the "search" button to find the company you would like research on.

4. Review the list of companies that pull up at the bottom of the page that match your search criteria.

5. Click on the blue link to the company you wish to research.

6. Review the company's Better Business Bureau report when it appears. The report includes whether the company's membership status is satisfactory or unsatisfactory with the Better Business Bureau, as well as customer experiences.

7. Decide whether or not you want to do business with the company you have researched. Many consumers choose not to do business with a company that has an unsatisfactory status with the Better Business Bureau as it's a reflection on how the company has treated consumers in the past.
