Haier Lcd Television Tips

Haier LCD television sets come in a wide array of sizes, are available as stationary sets or wall-mounts and are compatible with most computer systems, gaming consoles and cable television set-top boxes. Most maintenance steps for LCD, or liquid crystal display, TVs are fairly simple, but many television owners don't take the time to care for their sets. Proper installation and cleaning techniques can even improve the picture clarity of Haier LCD TVs.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Haier LCD televisions benefit from a few simple and quick maintenance procedures that can extend the TV's life. Haier recommends keeping the LCD screen free of dirt or dust. Use a dryer sheet or a clean rag dampened with lukewarm water and mild detergent to wipe the LCD screen on your Haier television. Let the screen air-dry before use. Protect the set from extreme temperature changes, or excess dust and humidity. Also, do not overload the electrical circuit from which the TV draws power; too much electrical strain could lead to problems with the set.

Viewing Distance

LCD television sets, especially those that utilize the 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, have a seating distance range within which a viewer experiences the best possible picture. LCD televisions with a screen size of 26 inches are best viewed within a range from just over three feet to six and a half feet. Forty-two-inch LCD screens are best viewed from five to ten and a half feet away, while 50-inch screens have an optimum viewing range of six feet three inches to twelve and a half feet. Haier LCD TVs are available with screen sizes of 19, 22, 24, 32, 42 and 55 inches.

Power Overload

A television, much like any other electronic device, receives a small amount of electricity when plugged into an electrical circuit, even when the power is not turned on. Thunderstorms can create electrical problems in the home, if the massive amount of electricity created by a lightning bolt finds its way into the home's electrical system. Although many people know to unplug televisions and other major appliances during electrical storms, television owners can't unplug their sets when a storm hits while they're on vacation. Haier recommends unplugging your LCD TV before leaving your home for an extended period.

Cheap Troubleshooting

Many troubleshooting procedures can improve the performance of your Haier LCD television and can be completed without the help of a technician. If you're experiencing a blank screen after turning on the power, check that the television input selection has been changed to "TV" instead of "Video 1" or "AUX." If the picture appears shaky or inconsistent, move any nearby electrical appliances, as they may cause interference with the signal. Also, check the position of your TV's antenna and adjust it as necessary.
