According to the Ohio Association of Realtors, close to 114,000 homes were sold throughout the state in 2008. To sell homes in Ohio, real estate agents must have a license and relevant experience. The Ohio Department of Commerce's Real Estate and Professional Licensing division handles all matters related to real estate agent licensure.
Instructions
1. You must be 18 to be a licensed real estate agent in Ohio.
2. If you were born before 1950, you do not need to possess a high school diploma.
3. According to the Superintendent of the Division of Real Estate, candidates for a real estate license should not have a criminal record.
4. Attend real estate education classes at one of the many approved community colleges and universities located throughout Ohio.

The number of classroom hours required for a real estate salesperson license is 120. You may take 10 years to complete them.
5. Complete an application to take the real estate salesperson license exam, which is available online (see link in Resources). Include your exam fees, which must be paid with a check or money order.
6. After you pass the real estate exam, you must apply for your license within a year for your test scores to remain valid.
