Online Store Programs

Earning commissions from a Web store is an easy way to monetize a website.

Making a Website profitable is hard work, and sometimes traditional contextual or banner advertisements just don't earn enough money. Fortunately, there is another way for bloggers and Webmasters to earn money from their sites. Setting up an online store on a site is a great way to earn commissions from sales driven by site traffic, and many companies offer easy-to-set up online stores for Websites.

Zazzle

Zazzle allows users to sell items through their very own virtual storefront.

Zazzle is a large Web store that allows users to create products with their own images and sell them via their site. Users gain commissions from sales, which they can set themselves, and set commissions anywhere from 10 percent to 99 percent. The size of the commission will effect the overall price of the product itself, so setting the commission to 99 percent is ill-advised. However, a 10 percent commission is more than enough to consider putting products that you create through Zazzle on your site.

Cafepress

CafePress users can sell products that they design on their own site for a commission.

CafePress is a Website that users create their own products, like T-shirts and books, and then sell them through a CafePress plug-in on their site. Users are paid commissions by CafePress based on how many pieces of merchandise that they sell and a "Premium" shop is offered for $59.95 a year that gives users more options for selling their products online.

Printfection

Printfection users earn money from selling merchandise to Web surfers based on the difference in the sale price and the price Printfection charges.

Printfection is an online site with little flexibility in its products. Most of the products that users can sell through Printfection are clothes, so the options for users are somewhat limited. Sellers can set their own commissions by stating their sell price. For example, if Printfection charges $10.00 for a product but a user sells it for $15.00, the user will generate $5.00 in commissions. Users can upload their own photos and pictures to be used for the merchandise and stores integrate seamlessly with Websites.

SpreadShirt

Spreadshirt merchants design and sell their own T-shirts to Web users and keep up to 20 percent of the sale price.

SpreadShirt allows users to both set up their own store front and sell goods out of it. However, users are limited to only clothing items (mainly T-shirts) and are encouraged to upgrade to a premium store front, which allows more flexibility when it comes to customizing the layout of the store. Users earn up to 20 percent commissions from sales of their products.

ShareASale

Affiliates on ShareASale earn commissions by selling merchants' products through their own site.

ShareASale is a site that allows users to sign up as affiliates and promote products that other merchants are trying to sell, earning a commission on each sale. While users cannot sell and promote their own products, they can sell other people's products and earn a large commission check each month from sales that they drive to products being sold by marketers.
