Updating a Google business listing is done by using Google Places.
Google Places lets businesses put their business details online so that customers can locate them within their communities and around the world. Businesses can claim and list their locations using the Google Places interface. Using this interface, businesses can list coupons and updates, manage business information and view their online performance.
Instructions
1. Updating your Google business listing can be done by accessing your business account with Google places.
To access your business account, access Google places. Log into your business account. Select "Edit my listing" if prompted. If this prompt is not present when you log in, select "Edit" under the business address.
2. Editing your business account, updating any of the seven sections.
Edit the basic information: update the name, address, website and/or phone number. Edit the service areas and locations in the next section. Indicate if customers come to your location or if you serve them at their location. If necessary, edit the hours of operation, payment options, photos, videos and additional details.
3. Save your changes once these updates are done.
To save your changes, click "Submit." You will get a prompt to validate the changes by postcard or phone call. If you select phone call, select the time frame for Google to call you. Enter the pin number provided in the business dashboard. If you select postcard, you will receive a postcard with confirmation details in two to three weeks.
