Instructions
1. Call an HSBC customer service number. For checking and savings accounts, call 800-975-4722. For Premier accounts, call 866-662-4722. For credit card accounts, call 888-385-8916.
2. Tell the customer service representative that you'd like to add a spouse as an authorized user to the account. Provide the customer service representative with your account information, including your name, account number and address.
3. Provide the customer service representative with your spouse's information. You need your spouse's full legal name, address, Social Security number and date of birth.
4. Wait while the customer service representative adds your spouse as an authorized user to your HSBC account. The customer service representative completes this process while you're on the phone. If the HSBC account has an associated credit or debit card, you can expect to receive a new card with your spouse's name in approximately 10 to 15 business days.
