Investing in a business or a market you have a personal knowledge about is usually a safe bet. Say there are two car dealerships in the town you live in and you know one of the owners. Looking for businesses like this is another good investment idea.

Looking at what is publicly known about a business or what is happening in the world can provide ideas in proper business investment. For example, if a law is approved in a state that says that everyone who drives in their cars who want to talk on their cell phones must have a hands free device when they do so, or else they can be pulled over and ticketed you can use this knowledge to invest in a company that makes hands-free cell phone headsets.
New Business Ideas
Investing in a new business that offers an inventive new idea for a product or way of making money in an old industry is another way to make good investments. For example, let's say someone has invented a device that allows you to easily attach a camera on your computer and talk to people on the other side of the world with the same camera, absolutely free. With the proper investment foresight, investing in this company is a good idea as more and more people will begin to buy these cameras. A major computer computer or technology company may also come along and purchase the technology you have invested in from the ground floor, making everyone involved a large amount of money.
