Local Business Permit

Business permits give the owner of the business the legal right to conduct business activities in a municipality. The registration process is completed by filling out a simple application. Counties and cities may require inventory taxes to be paid annually in order to renew a local business permit.
Corporate Registration
If individuals in Minnesota want to start a business, they may use a sole proprietor business structure, which does not require any licensing. Cigarette and tobacco vendors must fill out form CT101 to legally sell tobacco products. Funeral services require several licenses before they can legally operate in Minnesota.
