Generate A Web Site Store

The more experience you have with web page design, the better your store will be.

Web stores are very popular because they are simple to set up and a retailer doesn't need to have an expensive store or even inventory. The financial benefits are significant and while the work is relatively simple it's important to understand that the nicer you want the web page store to look the more time, money and effort it will take. While almost anyone can learn work with the web, the more web experience you have the easier it will be to start and manage a web page store.

Instructions

1. Get a domain name. A domain name is essentially your website address. You need a name that reflects who you are and what you are selling. You can register a domain name on a yearly basis for a small fee with such domain registrars as Network Solutions.

2. Find a hosting service. A web host is where all of your web pages are stored and where your domain name points to. Many domain registrars offer hosting and domain registration in one package. There is often a monthly or yearly cost based on the amount of space you need and any specialty services. A popular web hosting company is Blue Host.

3. Install a shopping cart system. A shopping cart system allows users to pick and purchase items on your page and it sends messages to you about the purchases. Paypal has a free shopping cart system that works well if you have a very simple web store with only one or a few pages. Installing it is just a matter of signing up for Paypal, and copying the code and pasting it in your web page.

4. Sign up for a payment gateway. A payment gateway is a company that processes credit card payments. In your shopping cart system you will have to add the payment gateway information. Paypal shopping carts can use Paypal as a gateway for a percentage of the charge taken and it is already setup to do so.
