You cannot completely remove any web pages from the Internet because the search engines keep cached copies of websites at various times. Fortunately, you can change the contents of existing web pages. You can also do some simple tasks to "hide" your information from Bing and other search engines. Many paid services claim they can remove your information for a fee. Instead you can take a few free steps to remove your name from a Bing search.
Instructions
1. Delete your information from all the do-it-yourself websites on which you have volunteered your information. Social networking sites, online resumes and photo-sharing sites are good places to start. You can cancel your Facebook or MySpace accounts, thereby removing two major sources of personal information from Bing. Any website account that requires your full name should be deleted if it holds any undesirable content.
2. Contact the webmaster of the website displaying personal information you wish to remove. You can find the webmaster by looking up the website on Whois.domaintools.com. This site will give you the contact information of the site owner. You can ask the owner to remove your information as a courtesy, but you cannot force the owner to do so unless the content is libelous. Send a friendly email and you should be able to get the content removed.
3. Change your name on public websites to a pseudonym instead of using your real name. That way your public profiles will not appear when someone looks up your name in Bing. The pseudonym can be one of your names combined with another name. This will help because you are not using your full name, which people will be typing in during a search.
4. Contact the Bing support team. Although they routinely index cached web pages, they may be willing to remove previous versions of the pages that you don't want people to see. However, this will not remove any of your information from the other search engines such as Google, where you can accomplish the same task using the Google Webmaster Tool.
5. Remember to exercise caution in the future when you enter your real name on a website. It is much easier to withhold your personal information than it is to remove your name later.
