If you are interested in becoming an eBay seller, visit the site and read all the information you can find about the process. When you think you are ready, you need to find items to sell. You have a number of options.
Instructions
1. Go through your home. If you are like many of us, there is a good chance that you have items in your home you do not need or use anymore. These items can be home decor, toys, clothing, collectibles and more. New eBay sellers are encouraged to start inside their homes. Doing so gives you a good idea whether selling on eBay is right for you before you spend any money on merchandise.
2. Visit your local yard sales. After you've exhausted your attic finds in your own home, it is time to move on to yard sales. This is where the saying "one person's trash is another person's treasure" can turn into profits for you. Usually, yard sale items are reasonably priced, which gives you the best opportunity to make a profit. Attend estate sales in your area to find things to sell on eBay.
3. Visit your local thrift stores. While many individuals have yard sales when they want to clean out their homes, not all do. Many prefer donating their unwanted goods to thrift stores. When searching your local thrift stores for things to sell on eBay, ask about any special deals or discounts. For example, your local thrift store may have a 50 percent off day or another similar promotion on a weekly or a monthly basis.
4. Research drop-shipping companies. With drop-shipping, you sell merchandise that you don't have in your possession. Once an order is placed, you turn around and place an order with your drop-shipping company, and then it ships out the merchandise for you, often with your name right on the package. Examine the eBay website before choosing a drop shipper. You don't want to sign up with a shipper that is already over-represented on the website.
5. Examine wholesale suppliers. You should receive a discounted price for purchasing wholesale merchandise, which allows you room to make a profit on eBay. Buying wholesale is possible for a wide range of clothing, toys, books, DVDs and much more. While you may find some wholesale suppliers who offer drop-shipping services, most traditional wholesale suppliers ship the merchandise to you.
