Use Yahoo Being An Smpt Server

Yahoo! Mail is the free online email service provided by Yahoo! and supported by advertising. You don't necessarily have to use the Yahoo! web interface to send Yahoo! Mail. You can use Yahoo! Mail SMTP server settings from within Microsoft Outlook or other email applications that run on the computer to send Yahoo! Mail. However, to receive Yahoo! Mail through Outlook, you need to upgrade your Yahoo! Mail to MailPlus.


Instructions


Set Up Yahoo! Mail SMTP


1. Open Microsoft Outlook or another email client on your computer.


2. Click the "Tools" option on the top navigation bar and then click "Email Accounts." The Email Accounts wizard launches.


3. Click the radio button next to the "Add New Email Account" option and then click "Next."


4. Click the "POP3" option and then click "Next." The Internet Email Configuration window opens.


5. Type your name and your Yahoo! email address into the "Full Name" and "Email Address" input boxes.


6. Type your Yahoo! email address for the "Username" and then type your Yahoo! password into the "Password" input box.


7. Type "?plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com" if you have Yahoo! MailPlus, to activate the POP3 settings to receive Yahoo! Mail through Outlook. Otherwise, use your existing POP3 server settings.


8. Type "plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com" for the Yahoo! MailPlus SMTP settings.


9. Type "465" into the "SMTP Port" input box.


10. Click "Yes" for the "TLS/SSL" option.


11. Click "OK." The email client settings are configured.

12. Open a web browser and log into your Yahoo! Mail account.


13. Click "Options" on the top right navigation bar, and then click "Mail Options."


14. Click the "POP & Forwarding" option and then click "View POP Settings" to view your POP3 (receiving) email server for Yahoo! Mail.
