What's The Equivalent For St37 Din1626 In Astm Standards

The international professional organization that develops and delivers voluntary standards that govern much of the manufacturing, engineering, and scientific communities is ASTM International, which is formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials. The German equivalent of ASTM is the German Institute for Standardization, or Deutsches Institut fur Normung e. V. (DIN).

Most of the standard promulgated by these two organizations are comparable and equivalent, at least in part.

DIN EN 1626

The German standard DIN EN 1626:2008 (Cryogenic vessels - Valves for cryogenic service), which is known as Kryo-Behälter - Absperrarmaturen fur tiefkalten Betrieb; Deutsche Fassung EN 1626:2008 in German, is a comprehensive standard covering a lot of different types and grades of piping. At least six of these different types and grades of piping are covered, in equivalent manner, by six separate ASTM standards.

ASTM A53/A53M

ASTM A53/A53M (Standard Specification for Pipe, Steel, Black and Hot-Dipped, Zinc-Coated, Welded and Seamless) is divided into Grade A piping and Grade B piping. When DIN EN 1626 references Grade 37-2 (Welded) piping, it is equivalent to A53, Grade A. When it references Grade 37-2, Blatt 3 (ERW), it is equivalent to A53, Grade B (ERW).

ASTM A135

ASTM A135/A135M (Standard Specification for Electric-Resistance-Welded Steel Pipe) approximates DIN EN 1626 when it references Grade 37-2, Blatt 3 (ERW). This is very similar to ASTM A53, Grade B (ERW).

ASTM A139

ASTM A139/A139M (Standard Specification for Electric-Fusion [Arc]-Welded Steel Pipe [NPS 4 and Over]), Grade A, parallels DIN EN 1626 when it references Grade 37.0, Blatt 2.

ASTM A153

Grade A of ASTM 153/A153M (Standard Specification for Zinc Coating [Hot-Dip] on Iron and Steel Hardware) is comparable to DIN EN 1626 when it references Grade 37.0.

ASTM A214

ASTM A214/A214M (Standard Specification for Electric-Resistance-Welded Carbon Steel Heat-Exchanger and Condenser Tubes) is analogous to DIN EN 1626 when it references Grade 37-2 (ERW).

ASTM A671

Grade Blatt 3 with certification C within DIN 1626 is commensurate with ASTM A671/A671M (Standard Specification for Electric-Fusion-Welded Steel Pipe for Atmospheric and Lower Temperatures) which replaced ASTM A155 (Specification for Electric-Fusion Welded Steel Pipe for High-Pressure Service).
