AT&T wireless occasionally provides promotional rebate cards for customers when they purchase a new phone. Cell phone companies have offered mail-in-rebates for many years. The process usually involves mailing away a rebate form and proof of purchase to the company. In return, many companies now issue prepaid debit cards with the rebate amount preloaded onto the card. The card can be used anywhere the particular credit card logo (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) is accepted. In order to begin using the rebate card, you must first activate it.
Instructions
1. Peel any stickers off the prepaid debit card. Sign the back of the card in either blue or black ink.
2. Call the toll-free number listed on the sticker of the card you just removed. A recording will come over the phone. Follow the prompts to activate your card. You will need to enter your phone number and full 16-digit account number on the card. The four-digit pin code is the last four digits of the mobile number associated with the rebate card.
3. Visit the AT&T Reward Center website (see Resources) to check the balance of your card at any time after you activate it.
