Setup An Interesting & Effective Trade Event Booth

Trade shows bring awareness of your company to clients, buyers and vendors. Creating an eye-catching and effective trade show booth is essential to the success of the event. A high-impact booth will draw attendees to your business, generate interest in what your company is offering and leave them with a memorable impression, so that they may generate income for you after the show. Booth location, size, signage, handouts and staff personality all contribute to an effective and successful trade show appearance.

Instructions

1. Pick a good location. If you register early to the trade show, you will be able to choose the best location, although it may be more expensive than an out-of-the-way booth. Having a booth in a high-traffic aisle may determine how many people pass by and are driven to your area. Corners and ends of rows may garner the most traffic.

2. Decide the size of your booth. Booths come in a variety of sizes, designs and costs. Try to get the biggest booth for your money and consider costs and work hours needed to rent your equipment and transport it to the trade show.

3. Hang large colorful signage and feature display boards that clearly state your company name. Keep colors and text simple so attendees recognize your brand, but aren’t overwhelmed by a garish display. Lighting can add a dramatic effect to your booth. Have it provide a store-like warm atmosphere with soft or colored bulbs.

4. Display giveaways and fun promotional materials, with your company logo and website address, that grab attendee’s attention. Hand out glossy brochures and business cards with colorful and easy to read graphics and text. Provide a plastic tote bag with your company name to carry handouts. Placing your logo on bags and other promotional products spreads your name to other locations throughout the show.

5. Engage attendees as they walk by your booth. Greet them, catch their eye, introduce yourself and act welcoming without being overbearing, advises the Distinct Marketing website. Offer information about your products and services in a friendly, conversational, yet professional, manner. You and your staff’s personalities will complement your booth display and make an interesting and effective stop for attendees.
