Clean The Hoover Wind Tunnel 2 Dust Filter

The Hoover Windtunnel 2 contains a pre-filter screen in addition to a HEPA filter. The self-cleaning HEPA filter works by spinning while the vacuum is in operation, releasing fine particulates into the dirt cup. The pre-filter screen is removable, and traps larger particles before they reach the HEPA filter. Clean the screen regularly to prevent build-up of dirt and dust, which affects the performance of the vacuum and HEPA filter.

Instructions

1. Turn off the vacuum and unplug it. Remove the dirt cup by pushing down on the latch and pulling it outward.

2. Hold the dirt cup over a trash can. Press the latch on the bottom back of the dirt cup to open and empty it. Close the lid.

3. Locate the pre-filter screen at the top of the dirt cup lid. Remove it and brush the screen with the brush attachment to remove loose debris.

4. Run the filter screen under cold water. Dampen a cloth with cold water and add 1/2 tsp. of dish soap. Wipe the screen thoroughly. Rinse it well in cold water.

5. Air dry the filter screen. Put the screen back into place on the dirt cup. Position the dirt cup on the vacuum bottom first, and slide the top in.
