Get Free Advertising In My Ecommerce Website

The great thing about today's Internet marketplace is that there are many ways to get free advertising to broadcast one's new business. For an e-commerce business, it is especially important to get traffic to sell products and merchandise. Free advertising efforts should be a priority.

Instructions

1. Write monthly news releases. A new e-commerce website needs to be publicized in as many ways as possible, and there's no better way to get the word out than to post news releases on free press release sites (see Resources below for a list). All you have to do is register with these sites and begin posting your news release every month for at least six months. Each month you can feature a new product, important facts about the website and interesting tidbits of information about your business.

2. Start a blog. Besides running your website, it's important to have a business blog maintained at least three or four times a week. This blog will allow you to be "face to face" with customers, so to speak, and share valuable first-hand information about your website, new trends in your industry and personal testimonials. Blogs are an excellent form of free advertising.

3. Hire others to blog for you. Today's informational highway thrives on reviews and blogs. Although having a personal or business blog about your business is good, having other blog about your site is even better. Hire bloggers who can saturate the Internet with articles about your website. See Resources below for places that can do all the work for you.

4. Join social networks such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and MySpace--today's free advertising platforms. If you spend much time on these sites, you will begin to see how businesses are using them to advertise their websites, e-commerce businesses, shopping carts and new products and services.

5. Write content that draws traffic. It's important for an e-commerce website to post excellent content that draws traffic and therefore sales. Begin a list of 10 to 20 article titles related to your products and merchandise. Giving away free information is what the Internet is for. By providing good quality articles and content related to your e-commerce business, you will be establishing credibility and becoming a great site people will bookmark and visit repeatedly. Search engine optimization (SEO) is your task. The key to writing SEO content driven articles is to think of keywords your potential customers will be entering into search engines and writing articles on those subjects.
