The Racing Rules of Sailing govern the conduct of yacht racing.
Expedition routing software is a navigation and yacht racing software developed by a veteran race navigator, physicist Nick White. The software can be integrated with boat instruments, including Automatic Identification System receivers and broadband radar.
Chart Plotter
The chart plotter feature rotates, mosaics and moves between charts and includes dusk and night display modes. Electronic nautical chart support includes C-Map NT+ and MAX, Bsb, and Softcharts.
Weather Display
Expedition software provides various weather displays, including National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration tides and currents. Expedition can merge and display multiple gridded binary file data sets used in meteorology to store forecast weather data.
Weather Routing
The weather routing feature displays wave corrections and avoidance, multiple optimum routes and optimal routes for fleet, and includes optimal route sensitivity tools. Expedition also provides a reverse isochrone function for graphical interpretation of routing.
Racing Functions
Expedition software includes many racing functions. Once you enter a time to start, Expedition can provide time to the line, time to both pin and boat ends, and time to burn. Other racing functions include windward-leeward course support, time to layline, layline bounds, turn rate, acceleration and braking, hold wind, What if? functionality and handicap support.
