Use Rubber Bands For Any Circle Pattern On Tiedye T shirts

Tie-dying is so much fun, versatile way to decorate. There are as many different items to dye as there are patterns to dye them in. The circle pattern is the easiest and most popular tie-die style. The rubber bands are easy to place and tie, so even children can do the entire project themselves.

Instructions

1. Lay the shirt out on a flat surface. Pick a point on the shirt and pinch it. The pinch should get the front and back of the shirt. The larger the pinch, the larger the circles will appear on your shirt.

2. Tie a rubber band around the pinch very tightly. The band needs to be tight so the water and dye do not seep through. Pull the band tight and tie it until there is little slack in the rubber bands.

3. Pinch different areas around your shirt, including the sleeves, 8 to 10 times. A circle will appear each place you tie the rubber band.

4. Select the color of the dye and prepare it according to the instructions on the bottle. Pour the mixture into a bowl that is deep and wide enough that it won't overflow when you soak the shirt. One color of dye works best with this circle pattern.

5. Set the shirt in the dye and let is soak for at least 10 minutes. The longer you leave the shirt in, the darker the color will be. However, the dye might run into the bands if you leave it in too long.

6. Rinse the shirt and with clean water until it rinses clear. Hang to dry and iron to keep the color from fading.
