Create your own get well soon sign.
While it may not cure them of their ailment, a thoughtful get well sign can be the perfect pick-me-up for people who are sick or injured. Get well signs can be made with items that can be found at a dollar store. Make your sign extra special by having everyone in the office, family or religious group sign it.
Instructions
1. Take a sheet of the colored Bristol board and cut 3 inches off on all sides to make a smaller square. Bristol board works best for a get well sign because it is large, comes in a wide variety of colors and is inexpensive. Tape or glue the smaller square in the center of the larger Bristol board so that it creates a frame effect. For an added embellishment, poke a hole through the top right corner where the beginning of your second board begins. Tie a string around the base of the balloon. After you have poked a hole in your board, feed the balloon string through and tie it. Now you will have a balloon attached to your sign.
2. Decorate your board. Let your artistic talents shine either by drawing designs in the corners of the inner square, or by gluing beads, plastic gems, photos, flower cutouts or other decorations to the sign. If adding embellishments to the sign, do so in a pattern, such as only in the corners or in a wave pattern all the way around the outer border, so that it looks consistent.
3. Add your get well soon message. In big, bold letters use a marker to write "Get Well Soon" in the middle of your board. Use bubble or block letters and fill them in with your preferred color. Make sure the get well message is the focus of your sign.
4. Sign your sign. Include a personal note beyond the standard "get well" greeting. If the recipient had a surgery or is suffering from the flu, mention it. Make it a group sign by having everyone in the recipient's family or workplace leave their own personal message.
