It's important to maintain your vacuum to ensure your floors are properly cleaned.
The Hoover Windtunnel Mach 6.1 vacuum is a bagless upright floor cleaner. A rubber belt drives the vacuum motor. The belt rotates the vacuum brush causing the vacuum to work properly and clean the floors adequately. Throughout the life of the Hoover, the belt can become worn out or even break. It’s important to know the correct process to replace the vacuum belt, as your Hoover will not work properly without a belt installed.
Instructions
1. Turn the Hoover off and unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.
2. Turn the vacuum over and position the unit so the bottom side is facing up. Use a Phillips screwdriver and remove the six screws that secure the bottom plate to the vacuum. Lift the bottom plate off of the unit.
3. Remove the old belt from the large pulley by pulling it off of the pulley. Discard of the used belt.
4. Install the replacement belt; slide the new belt over the motor shaft. Pull the other end of the belt over the large pulley while rolling the pulley. This will ensure the belt is properly aligned.
5. Turn the agitator brush with your hand to make sure the belt turns freely. Replace the bottom plate onto the unit. Tighten the six screws to ensure the plate is secured to the unit.
