Create A Day Health spa Better

Having a variety of available services will help to draw more customers to your spa.

A day spa allows customers to relax and rid themselves of stress and everyday worries in a soothing and comfortable environment. Business owners can make a day spa better with improvements ranging from simple atmosphere changes to upgrading current equipment and services. Whether your budget allows for a little redecorating or a full-scale remodel, any day spa can be improved with creativity and a bit of time to dedicate to the project.

Instructions

1. Assess your current day spa and create a list of the amenities and available services you offer your customers. Complete a walk-through of your entire spa and observe the overall atmosphere, colors and the shape of the items and tools in the building. Note any items that require repairing or an upgrade to improve the look of your day spa. Understand your spa's budget for the upgrade before shopping or planning to redecorate.

2. Choose a theme to decorate your spa in or stick with a color scheme of no more than three base colors. Some themes for a spa include a modern sophisticated look with red, white and black or an all-female day spa theme, using pinks, purples and various patterns, including animal print, polka dots or calming stripes.

3. Check various competitive spa prices locally in your area to get an idea of specials and current rates of services. Update your service prices to beat your competition by offering better deals and spa packages for lower prices, which will help to attract new clients. Feature couples massage deals and specials to encourage new customers and couples to the spa.

4. Apply a fresh coat of paint to your day spa's walls to add a new atmosphere or fresh feeling to the building. Purchase carpets or rugs for areas in the spa that will not get wet, such as waiting areas or nail-drying stations.

5. Feature a customer rewards system to encourage long-term clients for the spa. Create customer cards with special stamps with the spa's logo for customers to use each time they visit the day spa.

6. Create a website or a social networking page to help increase the awareness of the spa while also giving you an opportunity to share special deals and offers with dedicated customers online. Send newsletters and coupons to loyal customers. Feature coupons for deals on various types of massages as well as other services including facials, pedicures and hair coloring.

7. Upgrade your spa's equipment and tools, including purchasing new waiting chairs as well as hairdresser chairs to match your spa's overall theme and atmosphere. Add a CD player to each of your day spa's individual rooms, including music that is soothing and relaxing--or meditation CDs and tapes.

8. Create an available list of services or visible "menu" for the clients of your day spa to see upon arrival. Include your aromatherapy, massage and beauty services in the list along with prices or package deal options. Having your services visible to all customers will encourage business while also giving useful details to potential clients.
