Generate A Tape Dispenser

Set up a tape dispenser instead of using scissors with packaging tape.

Tape dispensers, also referred to as tape guns or packing tape dispensers, make large tasks such as sealing moving boxes or packaging multiple items for shipment more efficient. If you're unfamiliar with tape dispensers, the mechanism may seem unnecessarily complicated. Many people have encountered a tape dispenser that wasn't loaded correctly and fought through an ordeal of getting the tape to work. Learning set up a tape dispenser allows you to assure smooth tape use every time.

Instructions

1. Center the fresh roll of tape over the tape dispenser reel so that the tape will unroll counter-clockwise. Press down firmly to install the tape.

2. Lift the end of the tape and guide it into the slot between the roller and the metal shield with the adhesive side facing downwards.

3. Check the tape dispenser's action. Roll the tape onto the surface to be taped. Push the dispenser blades against the tape to cut the desired length.

4. Adjust the tape dispenser tension by turning the reel clockwise to tighten it or counter-clockwise to loosen it.

5. Check the tape dispenser tension by rolling the tape on a box or other surface. The tape should move freely, yet not unroll too fast. Adjust the tension if needed for the right flow of tape dispensing.
