4. Get rid of credit cards. If the problem is self-control, destroy your credit cards. Canceling the card will damage your credit rating.
5. Pay more than the minimum. If you truly want to eliminate debt, endeavor to pay more than the minimum payment each month. Submitting double or triple payments can make a significant difference.
6. Ask for an interest rate reduction. Persons who maintain a good payment history with their creditors can usually negotiate a lower interest rate.
7. Stop buying with credit. If you continually use credit for everyday purchases, you'll stay in debt.
8. Pass on a few extras. Do you frequently visit the hair salon, nail salon, or day spa? If so, consider passing on a few luxuries for six months to one year. Other luxuries include dining out, expensive getaways, shopping sprees, and much more.
