Occasionally the need will arise to purge a print job from the queue before the document is actually printed. This can happen when you've discovered an error in the document or that a printout is not actually needed. Paper jams or other printer malfunctions may necessitate the need for the entire print queue to be purged. There are several ways to accomplish this task, and all take only a few moments of time.
Instructions
From the Computer Taskbar
1. Click on the printer icon on your taskbar. This will open up the window showing the documents in queue waiting to be printed.
2. Highlight the document you wish to purge from the queue.
3. Click on 'Document' from the text menu at the top of the box.
4. Click on 'Cancel' to purge the selected document from the list.
From the Computer Start Menu
5. Click on the 'Start' button and select the 'Printers and Faxes' icon.
6. Double-click on the printer icon that has the document you wish to purge in queue.
7. Click on and highlight the document you do not want to print.
8. Select 'Documents' from the text menu at the top of the window.
9. Chose the 'Cancel' option from the document options.
To Purge All Print Jobs
10. Open the print job screen by using one of the methods described above.
11. Click on 'Printer' from the top text menu.
12. Click on 'Cancel All Documents' from the option screen that opens.
After a Malfunction
13. Turn off the power to the printer.
14. Allow the power to remain off for several minutes. This will give the printer time to automatically remove print jobs from memory.
15. Turn the printer back on.
16. Use the steps in the above section 'To Purge All Print Jobs' if the printer attempts to print the remaining documents.
