If a web page is too wide, some of its text may cut off during printing.
A web page can be designed to have a large width of 1024 pixels or more. To keep users from scrolling, a designer can design a web page of 800 X 600 pixels. If a web page is too wide to print on a standard sheet of paper, some of its text may cut off. You can change your print settings to accommodate your sheet, however. You can check the layout and scaling options for your printer to see what's available.
Instructions
1. Open the wide web page you want to print.
2. Select "File" and "Print" in the toolbar. The "Print" dialog box will open.
3. Select the printer from the "Name" drop-down list (if you have multiple printers). Then click on the "Properties" button and select the "Layout" tab.
4. Click on the "Paper Size" drop-down to choose the paper you want to print to. Checkmark "Scale to Fit." The "Scale to Fit" dialog box will open.
5. Select "Resize to" to print a percentage of the original size. Choose the original size from the "% of original size" drop-down, then pick the percentage you want.
6. Select "Scale to fit paper in device" to print to the size of your printer's paper instead. Choose the document size.
7. Click "OK" twice to return to the "Print" dialog box. Then choose the number of copies you want to print and press "OK."
