Using fliers to advertise a business or an event is one of the cheapest yet most resourceful ways of marketing, next to word of mouth advertising and referrals. They help transmit a message to your target customers and can be used for email and web distributions as well as print.

1. Design your flier yourself instead of using a graphic design artist. There are many programs that you can use to create your flier. Microsoft Word and Microsoft Paint are just two examples. Because printing color copies is expensive, you may want to consider creating black and white fliers. Once you have finished creating the flier, save the finished product on your computer.
2. Printing your fliers on your own printer saves money. But, if you need a high number of fliers, take them to a local office supply store. Call first to see which company is offering the cheapest rate.
3. Select the half page layout when printing. This will give you two 8.5 x 5.5 fliers on one page instead of one 8.5 x 11 flier.
