1. Visit various places around your town that might have community bulletin boards. Bring copies of your ad or flyer, along with push pins and tape. Cafes, markets, retail shops and schools may have bulletin boards. If you don't see one right away, ask if the company or organization has an employee bulletin board. Sometimes, there are bulletin boards in places like staff break rooms or teacher lounges. Target the kinds of companies that would be appropriate for your business. For example, if you run a fitness bootcamp, look for bulletin boards at gyms or sporting equipment stores.
2. Ask someone at the company or organization if there is a posting policy for ads or flyers. Some stores might let you post anything, while others may require that your ad be relevant to their customers in some way.
3. Post your ad to the bulletin board with a push pin or tape in such a way that it is highly visible and at eye-level. Try not to cover up other ads or flyers. If your ad has tabs at the bottom with your contact information, rip off a few of the tabs to make it look like others have looked at your ad and taken interest in your product or service.
4. Ask the company or organization how long the ad can remain posted. Some companies might clear their bulletin boards once a week or every couple of weeks. Confirm that you can come back and re-post your ad once the board has been cleared.
